Voluntary and Involuntary Action

"Up,down...flex,extend!". The Muscular system is a partner system. It helps the bones in our body move freely.

Although some muscles allow free movement, they're called voluntary, muscles such as that of cardiac and smooth, called involuntary, move by themselves. For example, the cardiac muscles(only found in the heart) moves day and night, even if we are in an unconscious state namely, asleep.

Smooth muscles can be found in the walls of the stomach and small intestine. These muscles contract to allow the movement of food during digestion.
