Voluntary and Involuntary Action

"Up,down...flex,extend!". The Muscular system is a partner system. It helps the bones in our body move freely.
Although some muscles allow free movement, they're called voluntary, muscles such as that of cardiac and smooth, called involuntary, move by themselves. For example, the cardiac muscles(only found in the heart) moves day and night, even if we are in an unconscious state namely, asleep.
Smooth muscles can be found in the walls of the stomach and small intestine. These muscles contract to allow the movement of food during digestion.

Regulatory Molecules

"You're small and I'm tall!" "I'm fat and you're thin!" What's the similarity?......... Hormones!
Hormones are the one's responsible for stimulating growth and the balance of the chemicals in the body.
Endocrine organs produce the hormones which are then carried by the blood to the target organs. Malfunctions in these organs can cause abnormalities such as dwarfism and giantism. Lack of minerals that the endocrine organs need may also cause abnormalities.

Makes "Sense" to Me

"Head and shoulders, knees and toes..." What about the others? What about the senses?
The sense organs perform their function to ease our daily life. Without them, it's not that...normal. The ears are our auditory organs, they are the ones responsible for catching sound waves and transmitting them into the brain for processing. The eyes on the other hand, are our visual organs that are used as sense of sight. Harm to our eyes may cause severe blindness that makes it for us difficult to move around, not knowing if we will bump an object.
All the other sense organs have not yet been discussed so in the meantime, sight and hearing is what makes "sense" to me...

The Sweat that Counts

Nowadays, researchers try to make it fun for children to loose weight. They invent all kinds of mechanical equipment just to make kids "sweat" more... Hmmm, sweat ey? Well then, where and what produces them?
Sweat is produced by sweat glands located in the skin. Sweat is released through the pores and it contains excess salt and water. Jogging and running are some examples of obtaining sweat. When we run, it also burn fat which causes us to lose pounds in our weight. The skin also produce oil in oil glands. The function of this, in the ear for example, is to prevent irritation. So now, I 'm gonna watch some more of those fascinating knowledge shows...

Framework of the Body

"Workers start to build the framework of the building. The two contractors started to discuss what the name of the building should be, 'What shall we call this building then?' asked the contractor. 'We'll call it, the skeletal system' said the other..."
The skeletal system is the rigid framework of the body responsible for housing the sensitive organs of the body(e.i. heart and lungs). Without the bones of the skeleton, we'll be swaying like homemade jelly! Our organs might be damage due to the lack of the skeleton which protects them like a shield. It is important that we take care of our skeletal system, our"knight in shining Skeleton".
